The University of Moratuwa comprises five faculties: Architecture, Business, Engineering, Graduate Studies, and Information Technology. It includes 22 academic departments that offer 12 bachelor's degree programs for students selected by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and 56 postgraduate programs on a cost recovery basis. The university's primary goal is to produce academically proficient, self-confident, adaptable, highly employable, and internationally recognized graduates who can secure employment immediately after graduation. Additionally, it aims to train students to become "job creators" rather than "job seekers" upon graduation.
